Amory – Raymond Earl Tribble, 74, died on Monday, July 23, 2012, at North MS Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1938, in Greenwood Springs, he was a son of the late Harold and Velora Brown Tribble.
Raymond was a graduate of Greenwood Springs High School, Class of 1957. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. After 33 years of service, he retired as the maintenance supervisor at Kerr-McGee. Raymond was of the Baptist faith. He was passionate about conservation and protecting wildlife. A loving and caring person who had a fatherly influence on several young people, he was affectionately known as “Big Daddy” to most. Raymond was a member of Big O and Greenhill Hunting Clubs. And outdoorsman, he cherished spending time with his family, enjoyed hunting and fishing, telling tales, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball.
He is survived by his daughters, Jan Palmer and Debbie Myatt (Ricky) of Amory; brother, Bob Tribble, Amory; grandchildren, Chris Palmer (Shannon), Heather McFarland (Brian), Wendy Sander (Greg), Lee Myatt (Laura), and Alesia Myatt; great-grandchildren, Conner Palmer, Robin McFarland, and Baby Sander due on January 7, 2013; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Brenda Pate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lowery Tribble; and a brother, Bill Tribble.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 26 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Truman Carter officiating. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Pickle, Scot Hurley, John Callihan, Richard Justice, Jake Hathcock, and John Steele. Honorary pallbearers will be John Cox, members of the Roundtable at Country Kitchen, and the coffee drinkers at Hardee’s.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
