Amory- Rammie “Sue” Hoots, 83, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Born July 16, 1930 in Monroe County, Ms, she was a daughter of Leonard and Viola Miller Faulkner. She married Roy Young Hoots, Jr. in 1948.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was deeply devoted to her home and children, in which raising her daughter and 2 sons was her greatest joy in life. She cared for her special needs son for over 60 years. Living with her daughter in Laurel the last 7 years, she always kept up with her friends and family in Monroe County by reading the newspaper.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Williams (Aaron), Laurel; sons, Wayne Hoots, Laureand Roger Hoots (Cindy), New Caney, TX; sister, Brenda Tucker, Tampa, brother, John Faulkner, Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Chuck and Cory Williams, Crystal Gathercole, April Hoots, Rebecca Hoots, Nathan Hoots, Rachel Barfield; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sisters, Nell Tucker, Ann Raines and Avis Davis; brother, Gene Faulkner.
A Celbreation of Life Service will be held at 10am, Monday, March 17, 2014 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Edward Williams and Bro. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Williams, Nathan Hoots, Jeff Capps, Chris Kemp, Rickey Harris and Bro. Joe Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Hoots and Cory Williams.
Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6-8pm.
