Perry Lee McFarling
Amory – Perry Lee McFarling, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on October 19, 1954, in Aberdeen, MS to the late Marlin Watson McFarling and Eddie Lee Dowdy.
Perry grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Amory High School. He then went on to serve this great country in the United States Army where he served for over three years. Perry then went back to school and furthered his education at IJC where he received his certificate as a Diesel Mechanic. Perry worked for over 20 years as a Diesel Mechanic and he had a great work ethic.
Perry was a Christian and he believed in God. He was quiet and as laid back as any man could be and Perry never got too upset about anything. Easy going, he enjoyed traveling the roads on his cherished Harley Davidson. He enjoyed riding with one of his closest friends, Roger Law. Perry also liked to play the guitar and listen to southern rock and country music. Once you got to get to know him, you realized he was a great guy.
All the great memories made through the years with him will be cherished forever.
Left behind to treasure his memories are his nephews, Lance McFarling (Heather), Scott Addington (Lilinoe); a niece, April Strawbridge; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Graveside Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 3:30 pm at Masonic Cemetery, Amory, MS. Pallbearers will be Roger Law, Austin McFarling, Kevin Pate, Joe Fannin, Jay Holloway, and Keith Murphy. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home in Amory from 2:30 pm until 3:15 pm.
