Peggy Hill

Amory – Peggy A. Tartt Hill, 75, met her Savior face to face on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Born on July 2, 1945, in Amory, MS, she was a daughter of the late Bernis Tartt and Merigold Kyle Tartt.

Peggy grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Nettleton High School. She was blessed by God with a loving family and great jobs during her lifetime. A hard worker, after many years of service Peggy retired from Tru-Temper where she was in the position of Drawbench Operator. After retirement, she helped work estate sales with one of her close friends Rita Byrd, who owns Bird Nest Antiques Estate Sales.

She was of the Baptist faith and believed in Christ. Always having a smile on her face, Peggy lived out her faith daily. She was an outgoing, loving, friendly, and compassionate woman. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed hosting gatherings and cooking for all. An ancestry buff, Peggy appreciated one’s heritage and she loved researching the roots of her family and others. Peggy liked the thrill of buying antiques, determining their background, then selling them to others to enjoy.

Peggy will be missed dearly by her family and friends. They are thankful for all the many years of love and memories she gave them. Her love lives on in their lives.

She is survived by her son, Derek Hill, Amory; grandson, Kayden Hill, Hamilton, AL; sister, Phyllis Holloway (Bill), Amory; nieces and nephews, Kayla Hester (Simon Marcy), Jonathan Hester (Blair); many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 3:00 pm, at Conwill Cemetery, Monroe County, MS with Rev. Brian Gordon officiating.
