Aberdeen – Peggy Freeman Cantrell, 70, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on May 25, 1941, in Louise, MS, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Mary Ellen Gray Ellis.
Peggy attended school in Duncan, MS, before moving to Missouri. On December 15, 1958, she married Harold Wayne Freeman in Bertrand, MO. Peggy enjoyed fishing, yard work, her dog, Buster, watching hummingbirds, and her grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, April 5 in Wren Cemetery with Rev. Harrison Upshaw officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Godsey, Calvin Lee, Lawrence Lewis, Ricky Brown, Carl Godsey, and Randall Leverett.
Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 PM, Thursday.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Freeman Brown (Roger) and Carla Camire Harper (Gary) of Wren; grandchildren, Kevin Camire, Mooreville, and Emily Lee and Ethan Brown of Wren; sisters, Dot Jennings, Wren and Faye Lewis, Bertrand, MO; brothers, Bobby Ellis (Lucy), Braidwood, IL, Richard Ellis (Joyce) New Lenox, IL, Homer Ellis (Madiline), Morris, IL, John Ellis (Joyce), Missouri, and Bill Ellis (Jean), Metropolis, IL; special friend, Jearl Nelson, Aberdeen and Glenda McCullar, Amory; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Wayne Freeman and Felix Cantrell; her infant son, Terry Wayne Freeman; and a sister, Betty Morris.
