Amory – Paul Calvin Shields, 37, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at his residence. Born on February 5, 1974, in Indianola, he was a son of Frank and Mae Mixon Shields.
Paul lived in Hunt, TX, before moving to Amory 20 years ago. He was a graduate of Hatley High School. Paul was a member of Becker Baptist Church. Full-loving with a gentle soul and a big heart, Paul loved people. He wrote poetry, was a great artist who excelled in sketching, enjoyed working on his computer and conversing with folks on Facebook and Farmville. He enjoyed all types of music and would make CDs to give away to people who were his caregivers.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Mae Shields; sisters, Danabeth Lockhart, Sonya Landreth, Leigh Smith, Diane Adams and Frankie Phillips; brothers, T. J. Shields, Steve, Terry and James Sloan, Danny and Wesley Shields and Frank Chaney, all of Amory. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Frank and Lucille Shields and a brother, Little Frank Chaney.
A private family graveside service will be held in Durrett Cemetery with Bro. Randy Spencer officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Sloan, John Lockhart, Craig Landreth, Chris Waddell, Jeremy Farrar and Eddie Adams.
