Patti Lynn Raymond Mills, 57, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born January 13, 1958, in Amory, Mississippi, to Edward G. Raymond, Jr., and Grace Palmer Raymond.
She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1976, and attended Itawamba Community College where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Among her several occupations, Patti worked with her father at Raymond Machine Works in Amory and at Sara Lee in Tupelo. She was a devoted mother to her two children and an encourager to her sisters. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially horses, and she enjoyed fishing, painting, and drawing. Patti was a member of St. Union Primitive Baptist Church in Amory.
Survivors include her daughter, Kayla Towery Halfacre and husband, Jake, of Aberdeen; her son, Jesse Mills of Amory; her mother, Grace Raymond of Amory; her two sisters, Gloria Wilson of Hamilton, and Donna Mallery of Jacksonville, Florida; nieces, Stephanie Traylor (Steve) of Columbus, Ohio, and Lauren Mallery of Tampa, Florida; nephews, Glenn Wilson (Laura) and son, Timothy of Pell City, Alabama; Daniel Wilson of Annapolis, Maryland, and Joseph Wilson of Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Brother Bobby Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Bigbee Community. Pallbearers will be Glenn Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Steve Traylor, Greg Oliver, and Nick Rogers.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m Thursday, March 12, at the funeral home.
