Amory – Patsy “Pat” Estes Jones, 53 passed away February 8, 2016 at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, MS. Born on July 30, 1962, in Iuka, she was a daughter of Nita Estes Sanderson and the late George William Estes.

Pat attended school in Hatley. She married the love of her life, Thomas Hugh Jones on March 21, 1981. Together they had two beautiful children. Pat lovingly cared for her husband until his death in May of 2005. She was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church. Pat was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother for all of her 53 years. She was known as a gentle and genuine soul who embraced everyone she met. She embraced all she met and diligently strived to serve and enrich their lives. She worked at Pickles Drive In for 35 years and touched many lives through her service career. She also enjoyed working with “Pop”, Jimmy Sanderson, her step-father, at his car lot from time to time. Pat enjoyed relaxing outdoors, needlework, and cooking, especially Tamales and homemade Mac-n-Cheese. She had a vivid imagination, she liked to tell stores and she above all, she valued her family and she was protective of them. Pat often told stories of her and her sister’s childhood personalities Jessis Joe and Jimmy Callous. Pat was best suited for a sunny day or a comfortable chair with her needlepoint. She will be missed dearly by all that had the pleasure to meet her.

Survivors include mother, Nita Sanderson of Amory, son, Cayce William Jones (Mallory) of Amory; daughter, Leighann Jones of Amory; a sister Bonnie Estes Finney (Gary), brothers Jeff Sanderson of Memphis, Jay Sanderson (Anita) of Nashville, Tn, and Jon Sanderson (Cindy) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Autumn Wright, Bryson Wright and Frey Jones; a niece, Emilea Tackett (Levi) and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Thomas Hugh Jones, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ovie E. Smith, Lewis Alsup, and Mr. & Mrs. George Jackson Estes II; her step-father Jimmy Sanderson who she affectionally called “Pop”.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Willis will be officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park in Amory. Pall Bearers will be: Stacy Stepp, Justin Alsup, Levi Tackett, Sammy Atkins, Steve Fowlkes, Charles Sisson, Bobby Bonds and Adam South.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, February 9, 2016 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home from 5 – 8 P.M.
