Smithville – Patricia Clytee Young, 69, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Diversicare Nursing Center of Amory, MS. Born on July 1, 1950, in Nettleton, MS she was daughter of the late Hubert “H.R.” Gillentine and Clytee Lamb Gillentine.
Patricia grew up in a Christian family with a father who was Pastor of the Lord Jesus Name Church. She attended Nettleton Schools and eventually went to work in one of the most important careers, a housewife and mother. She married Curtis Lee Young and together they were blessed with four children. She was an excellent homemaker, who enjoyed cleaning, providing wonderful home cooked meals, and rearing her children. She believed their faith in God was important, so she always took them to church and spoke often to them about Jesus. She loved the grandchildren she was blessed with and she enjoyed singing in church.
In her free time, Patricia liked to spend time outdoors, especially fishing. A fashionable woman, she always looked beautiful in the different dresses she always wore. Gospel music was her choice of music and some of her favorite songs were “Phone from Heaven” and “Jesus is Coming Soon”. Her family have so many fond memories of her making a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Although her presence will be missed here on earth greatly, her family has peace knowing that she has gone home to be the Lord. They will cherish all the love she gave them as well as memories made with her through the years.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Curtis Lee Young; son, Albert Lee Young (Anita), Smithville; daughters, Betty Mae Presley (Randy), Smithville, Odean R. Young, Amory; ; grandchildren, Brittany and Jeremy Presley; Braxton and David Young; Josh Young; Lacey and Sarah Poteet.
