Wren – Patricia Ann Barrett James, 75, won her earthly battle on Sunday, December 17, 2017, to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on July 30, 1942, in Paden, MS, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Luther Preston and Ruby Madeline Hunt Barrett of Belmont.
Patricia attended school at Belmont High School and later received her GED. In 1957, she married Wesley “Buddy” James. Together, they were blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters. A talented lady, she worked for Amory Garment, was a Bail bondslady, was a Bounty Hunter and later worked in the nursing home industry. Patricia grew up in the Church of Christ and later joined the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Passionate about all of her family, one of her main goals in life was teaching her children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and leading them to accepting Him as their Lord and Savior. Having a huge heart, she loved helping others. A talented writer, Patricia enjoyed writing books, stories and poetry. One who loved to play the keyboard and sing praises to God, Gospel was her favorite music. Good with her hands, she made jewelry, worked in her flower gardens and loved working in her yard. Giving her best at everything she did, Patricia always thought her best wasn’t good enough. When she saw Jesus face-to-face on Sunday, she was welcomed to heaven with “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
