Patreca Hawkins

Aberdeen, MS - Patreca Pamela Garrett Hawkins, 69, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at her home. She was born in Baldwyn, MS on September 5, 1955, to Mose and Jackie Garrett where she grew up learning the farming business with her family. She was a 1973 graduate of Baldwyn High School and member of Ingram Baptist Church. She graduated from Blue Mountain College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She retired as a public school teacher. She then became a CNA at Shearer-Richardson Memorial Nursing Home. She retired at the age of 65 and enjoyed her last few years at home with her husband and adopted dogs.

She is preceded in death by his father Mose Garrett, mother Jackie Cooper Garrett, and sister Metta Garrett Johnson.

She is survived by his husband Stephen Hawkins, of Aberdeen, daughter Demi Roberts (Jamie) of Baldwyn, son Larry Joseph “L.J.” Vegas of Baldwyn; her grandchildren Andy Roberts (Abby) of Baldwyn, Gracie Thompson (Wes) of Baldwyn, Drew Hughes; and her great grandchildren Faith and Jaxon Roberts.

Graveside services will be at Beeks Cemetery on Tuesday, March 18 at 4 p.m. in Amory, Mississippi with Tim West and James West officiating.
