Pat Roberts
Amory—Mae Patton “Pat” Stephens Roberts, 99, died on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on April 19, 1914, she was a daughter of James Thomas and Lizzie Pearl Pool Stephens. A graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, AL, she married Ivie N. Roberts in 1933. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Robert’s Jewelry on Main Street in Amory from 1941 until 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory where she taught Sunday school from 1933-1969. She was a member of the Triple L Club and the Flower Lovers Garden Club. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, painting, cooking, playing cards and dominoes, playing the organ and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson and Rev. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Dawn Roberts of Sulligent, AL and Jane Roberts of Amory; 8 grandchildren, Tim Roberts, Tammie Page, Terry Roberts, Shawn Roberts, Stephanie Roberts, Stephan Roberts, Dina Pierce, and April Hitt; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years; 3 sons, Harold Roberts, Malcom Roberts, and Richard Roberts; one grandson, Scott Roberts; and her siblings.
Pallbearers will be Hal Page, Shawn Roberts, Brett Roberts, Stephen Roberts, Matthew Householder, and Brennon Roberts.
Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening and will continue until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
