Hatley- Pamela Christine Hurley James, 48, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at NMMC. Born in Amory April 5, 1965, she was the daughter of Learl Dwight and Nell Marie Markham Hurley. She married Preston E. James in 1983. She was a graduate of Hatley High School, a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a homemaker in her last years. A Godly woman, the love of Christ was displayed in her life and her faith touched many people through her selfless giving and testimony. She enjoyed group Bible studies, sharing Gods love with others, being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Preston E. James, Hatley; mother and father, Dwight and Nell Marie Hurley, Hatley; daughters, Danielle Nicole Denton and Jesse Brooke James, both of Hatley; brothers, Stewart Gregg Hurley (Suzanne), Moss Point and Steven Learl Hurley (Dollie), Amory; grandchildren, Aubrey Anna Denton, Cameron Bradley Denton and Kinley Marie James; nieces and nephews, Alison Robertson (Sam), Amory, Jacob and Hannah Hurley, Moss Point and Kelvin and Micheal James, Amory; numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Benny Hilton Markham, Ruby and John Hurley, and Mattie Belle Gray Hurley.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30pm, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Smith and Mr. David Highland officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Phillips, Sam Robertson, Charles Hurley, Mitchell Puckett, Bobby Puckett, Ricky Brown and Russell Phillips.
Visitation will be Saturday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
