Born on September 1, 1922, in Marion County, AL, she was a daughter of the late V. A. & Molly Young Sanderson.Mrs. Thompson attended Byrd Schools. She was a seamstress with Wilson Manufacturing. A lifelong resident of Splunge, she was known for her cooking and for having the best lemonade. Mrs. Thompson was an active member of Splunge Baptist Church. A one-of-a-kind and very giving lady, she was always helping other people. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs, Prissy and Patsy. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed cooking and sewing, giving away canned goods, swinging on her porch, people watching, Gospel music and watching Channel 39. She was a great rose gardener.Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Charles) Langley, Amory; son, Ronnie Boozer, Greenwood Springs; granddaughters, Savannah Langley, Laura (Casey) Taylor, and Ashley Langley; and lots nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul B. Ferguson who died on D-Day and Delmo V. Thompson; sisters, Vera Watson, Maude Ferguson, Bobbie Kerr, Eva Lou Watson and Zera Mann; and brothers, Hobson L. Sanderson, Sr. and an infant brother.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Coker officiating. Burial will follow in Lann Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sid Thorn, Al Stevens, Jolly Faulkner, Charles Marshall, Roland Shotts and Jerry Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wardlaw, Doug and Ray Blaylock and Mark Davis.Visitation will continue until the service hour on Wednesday. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
