Novis Stanford

Smithville – Novis Stanford Noe, 90, died on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on May 6, 1921, in Sulligent, AL, she was a daughter of the late D. W. & Etta Gilbert Stanford.
Mrs. Noe married Melvin Noe on December 24, 1941. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed taking care of her family. Mrs. Noe was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, housekeeping, spending time with her family, and Gospel music.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, March 3 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 AM – 12:45 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 70+ years, Melvin Noe, Smithville; daughter, Nova Noe Gillespie, Decatur, AL; son, Tommy Noe, Smithville; grandchildren, T. C. Noe, Ginger Noe, Crystal Noe, Jennifer Widner, Michelle Welander, and Lisa Hanna; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Hanna.
