Nova Joe Roebuck Tackett
Nettleton – Nova Jo Roebuck Tackett, 86, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. Born November 10, 1925 in Nettleton, she was the daughter of the late Loyd and Ruby Blake Roebuck.
Mrs. Roebuck grew up in the Cason Community and attended Pine Grove School where she played basketball. She married Jessie Lee Tackett, who preceded her in death in 2005. She worked at Amory Garment Company until her retirement. She was a faithful member of her community attending “The Gathering” at Carolina Methodist Church each month and was faithful to her church, Cason Baptist where she was a member of the Senior Citizen Group. She loved her Lord, family and everyone always thinking of others before herself. Enjoying the beauty life she watched the birds, her dog ‘BooBoo’ and her adopted dog, ‘Jack’. Especially enjoying the mountains, Nova always said she had never seen an ugly tree. Nova loved going on picnics, outdoor outings and Old Time Gospel Music. She enjoyed visiting with friends, gardening, working in her flower beds and collecting bears.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Joe Tackett and Tim Tackett both of Amory; sisters, Juanita Christian of Amory and Katherine Duckett of Tupelo; four nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her twin brother.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Monday, July 9, 2012 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro Tommy Whaley, Bro Shane Crawford and Bro, Mike Hunter. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil Burks, Mike Baggett, Canaan Griffin, Mike West, John Mabry, Rickey Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Roberts, Herchel Hood, Charles Pierce, James Dykes, Barry Thrasher, Kenneth Swan, Johnny Brown, Bimbo Griffin, and friends of TEPA in Tupelo and Fulton
Visitation will continue until time for the service to begin.
