Norman Lee Byars, Sr., 49, died at Merit Health Gilmore Hospital on June 15, 2016. Born on May 10, 1967 in Tupelo, he was the son of Cecil Byars and Mary Wilson Guthrie.
Norman attended Shannon High School. His love of cars and ATV’s led him to be an employee of Bishops Auto Center. He also was employed by the Gold Connection. Norman attended Bethel Apostolic Church in Amory. Being an outdoors man, he loved fishing, boating and most of all, grilling out. In his spare time, he loved to listen to “old” rock and roll and country music.
He was looked upon as one who cared for all people. Norman was a hard working man who loved his family. He especially enjoyed going to the water park with his son, Robin. One enjoyment in his life was buying toys for all of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Stamphill Byars; daughters: Sarina Clements (James), Okolona, Sierra Spruill and Raven Spruill, Amory; sons: Norman Byars, Jr, Pontotoc and Robin Byars, Amory; Mother: Mary Guthrie; Dad: Cecil Byars; Brothers: Kelly Byars (Sandy), Shannon, Jean Byars (Jennifer), Tupelo; Grandchildren: Davin Lee Ford, Shannon Spruill, Payton Spruill and Mariah Spruill; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2PM, Monday, June 20, 2016 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Stanley Blaylock officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:50 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
