Becker- Ninnie Lee “Sis” Tubb, 90, died Thursday, December 13 at River Place, in Amory. She was born May 14, 1922 to the late Joe and Pearl Adams Fowlkes. She was married to the late Jimmy Eugene Tubb.
Ninnie grew up and lived in the Becker area. Being born into a family of 11, family was always important to her. In addition to her daughter and son, Ninnie had a hand in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ninnie willfully gave of herself, helping others, and sitting with the elderly all of her life. She was also a special caregiver to her grandson, Benji. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking her famous banana pudding and fried apple pies for family and friends, and taking afternoon rides with her friend, Mrs. Lois Varnell. Ninnie or often referred to by many as Aunt Sis will be missed by all who knew and appreciated her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Douglas Tubb (Becker); a sister, Bessie; grandsons, Rickey Moffett (Shellie) of Amory, Jamie Worrell (Amy) of Senatobia, and Benji Tubb (Becker); great grandchildren, Chuck and Jake Moffett, Kathryn McDaniel, Drew, Luke, and Leigh Shelby Moffett, Hunter and Brandon Worrell, Amber and Nathan Brown; great great grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor, Madison and Carlie Moffett; special caregivers, Marcia Hill and Juanita Reeves.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Worrell; granddaughter, Beverly Dawn Moffett; daughter in law, Donna Sue Tubb; sons in laws, Charles D. Moffett and Sammy Worrell; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, December 15 at Hatley Cemetery with Bro. Robert Fowlkes and Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Pallbearers will be Rickey Moffett, Jamie Worrell, Jake Moffett, Drew Moffett, Brandon Worrell, Luke Moffett and Jimmy Doyle Fowlkes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of River Place, Dr. Roger Ratliff, and Joe Chism.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:15 AM to 11:15 AM, when we will leave the funeral home in procession to Hatley Cemetery.
