Nettie Shackelford

Nettleton - Nettie Mae Shackelford, 95, Carolina Community, died on Thursday, October 07, 2010, at her son’s residence. Born on March 30, 1915, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. & Minnie Morse Parker.
A loving and caring mother and grandmother to her entire family, Mrs. Shackelford was a homemaker. She was a member of Carolina Baptist Church. Mrs. Shackelford enjoyed flowers, sewing, feeding and watching hummingbirds and watching the Fulton Gospel television station.
She is survived by a son, Russell (Linda Lee) Shackelford, Carolina Community; sisters, Margie Gray, Nettleton and Helen Patton, Amory; brothers, Walter Lee (Jimmie) Parker, Nettleton and Hollis (Barbara) Parker, Amory; grandson, Robbie (Marta) Shackelford, Carolina Community; and great-grandchildren, Will, Dominic and Samantha Shackelford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her husband of 49 years, Alton Shackelford, and three brothers, Shellie, Swiss and Charles Parker.
A Funeral service for Nettie Mae Shackelford will be held at 2 PM, Saturday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Jerry Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Golden Living Nursing Home, Amory.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
