Nellie Gray
Nettleton, Miss.—Nellie Ruth Waddle Gray, 77, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born August 13, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Rochford and Amanda Conwill Waddle. She married James Gray in 1951. A hard worker, she took pleasure and pride in maintaining her home, enjoying yard work and gardening. Before her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. Her hobbies included camping and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Minister Bobby Cleveland officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ruth Gray Murphy (Robert) of Pontotoc and Lisa Ann Gray of Nettleton; 3 sisters, Eudell Pender of Nettleton, Jimmie Parker of Nettleton, and Lee Nanney of Tupelo; one brother, Bryson Waddle, Sr. of Plantersville; 4 grandchildren, Phillip Chaney (Diala); Amanda Russell (Eric), Melanie Colburn, and Robert Gray (Crystal); and 6 great grandchildren, Lindsey Hester, Madison Colburn, Tayler Russell, Drew Russell, Elliot Chaney, and Michael Chaney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Gray; one son, James Michael Gray; 5 sisters, Lois Park, Mary Randolph, Mable Tallant Scruggs, Winifred Cody, and Lela Waddle; and 4 brothers, Leaton, Edward, Albert, and Earl Waddle.
Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 on Thursday at the funeral home.
