Hatley – Nellie “BooBoo” Franks, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at her residence. Born on January 28, 1931, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, she was a daughter of Evie Williams Law and the late Edward law
Nellie attended Tilden and Mantatchie High School. She was an Inspector with Glenn Manufacturing and Red Cap Industries. She married E.A. (Jack) Franks on June 27, 1948. She was a faithful member of the Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. Her passion in life was her God, her family and putting others first before herself. She loved Gospel music, fishing, gardening, playing dominoes and cards. She was known to never meet a stranger.
Survivors include her mother, Evie Law, Fulton; sons, Rickey Franks (Carol), Jerry Franks , both of Hatley; Daughters, Cheryl D. Irwin (Jerry),Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brenda Turner, Fulton, Sisters Joyce Browning, Hatley; sister in Law Marie Law. Brothers John Law (Sandra) Smithville, Theldon Law (Virginia), Lees Summit, MO; 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren; and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.A.”Jack” Franks;
brother, Roger Law; daughter-in-law, Dogama Franks; granddaughter Kim Irwin; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Franks; great-great-grandson, Bentley Franks; great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Watson.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015, at 2:00 PM at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Sidney McLeod officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark, Alan, David Adams; Tony, Jerry and Donnie Franks. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
