Nancy Clayton

Nettleton – Nancy Carolyn Clayton, 69, passed away on November 17, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center – Gilmore, Amory, MS. She was born on July 23, 1953 to the late Hershel and Metrie Jones Presley.

Nancy was a child of 14 siblings in her family. She was a great wife, mother, sister, grandma, great grandma, Aunt and friend. She was a friend to so many. She loved everyone she met.

Nancy always loved to go fishing while she was camping with her husband. She was married to her husband, Jerald Clayton, Sr. and was loved by her husband for 47 years. She always loved to fuss with her husband and her son, Jerald Clayton, Jr. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays she had to watch wrestling on tv. She would even get mad at the Wrestlers and talked to the tv. Nancy also loved to go to yard sales with her sisters.

She will be missed so dearly. Our hearts are so torn with her passing. But they know she is heaven with her husband and they are now back together for eternity. Until we meet again Nancy.

She is loved and will be missed by her sons, Jerald W. Clayton, Jr., Nettleton, Scotty Delane Clayton, Nettleton; grandkids, Jerald Clayton (Jessica), Nettleton, Maggie McNeese (Jeremiah), Amory, Danny Clayton (Tamra), Troy; 8 great-grandkids, Hadley, Carter, Maddox, Finnley, Kaia, Paxton, Xavier, and Elijah; sisters, Betty, Charlie, and Kay; brother, Jeff Presley; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jerald Clayton, Sr.; brothers, John, Elvis, Randell, and Gene; sisters, Marie, Odie, Maxine, Glenny and Peggy; great-grandchildren, Carter and Finnley; daughter-in-law, Amanda Clayton.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm at The Professors of Jesus Name Community Church in Nettleton, MS with Bro. Eddie Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery, Nettleton, MS with Pallbearers being Steven Clayton, Nathan Clayton, Timothy Clayton, Steven Johnson, Jerald Clayton, and Danny Clayton. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Presley, BJ Presley, Albert Young, Randy Presley, Matthew Clayton, Ben Clayton, Eli Clayton, Derick Hefner, Nick Kent, Darrell Cooper, Darren Cooper, and Dallas Presley.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church in Nettleton on Saturday, starting at 6:00 pm.
