Jimmie M. Harris

Jimmie Hoots Harris, 84, went to be with the Lord and her family on October 2, 2021. She was born in Smithville, MS, on August 4, 1937 to Roy and Ila Hoots. She attended Becker school. On December 4, 1954, she married Dalton Harris and they were blessed with 3 children together. She worked at Amory Garment as a seamstress until her retirement.

She was a member of the Cason Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies were doing puzzles, painting, reading and growing flowers. She loved life and her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jimmie is survived by a daughter, Gail Kemp and husband Chris, Marietta, MS; a son, Stan Harris and his wife Wendy, Hatley; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dalton “Gene” Harris, one daughter, Jenner Faulkner, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jimmie Hoots will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in New Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Kemp, Donnie Kemp, Jason Faulkner, Roman Cuevas, Joey Christopher, and Matthew Faulkner

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm a the funeral home in Amory, MS.
