Monica West Plunkett

Amory – Monica West Plunkett, 36, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born in Amory on Febuary 27, 1982, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Patricia Leach West.

Monica graduated from Hatley High School with the class of 2000. She had a big heart and loved her family dearly. Monica had a beautiful smile and she was full of life. A true friend, Monica was always there to lend a ear to people needing to talk. She was a wonderful mother and friend.

In her free time, Monica enjoyed just spending time with her daughter and watching different television shows. The movies on Lifetime Network really kept the two of them engaged. Monica was very close to her nephews and to her sisters. Her dog Rover was a favorite companion of hers as well.

She loved to spend time outdoors. She especially liked to travel to Grenada to catfish. Camping was a favorite pastime along with outdoor grilling. She will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her.

Monica is survived by her daughter, Tonya Plunkett (Amory); sisters, Gloria Westmoreland, Amory, Patricia West, Amory; nephews, Nickolous and Bobby Westmoreland, Amory.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a cousin, Alicia West.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2018, at 4:30 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, MS with Waylon Powell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Contreal Blaylock, Keshun Meaders, Charlie West, Dewey Guyton, Bradley Easter, and Jamar Daniel, Sr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home in Amory.
