Amory – Minrose Archer Ramseur, 96, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at her residence. Born on November 8, 1919, in Okolona, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Carroll and Eva Mae Cole Archer.
She graduated from Siloam High School in West Point in 1938. Minrose was a certified professional secretary for Standard Oil Company, Premier Oil Company, and Gulf Oil Company in Jackson. She met and married Weldon Ramseur in 1963 in Jackson. Minrose was very dedicated to her husband. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Houston, TX, to work for Gulf Oil. They retired to Tyler, TX, in 1972. In 1994, they moved to Jackson. After Weldon passed away in 1998, Minrose moved to Amory in 1999, to be near her Archer nieces and nephews. Together, they shared all the family gatherings and memorable moments. She was with them through the births, the passings, holidays, and she helped any way she could.
She was honored to have many angels in her life – her family and caregivers who were generous, loving, and caring. A member of the Christian Church faith, Minrose was passionate about tithing to the churches in Wren. A sweet and very smart-minded lady, she was very charitable and possessed a strong inner-strength. Minrose will be greatly missed.
