Aberdeen – Minnie Mae Adams, 86, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at River Place Nursing Center, Amory, MS. Born in Amory on July 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Myrtle Jane Skelton Adams.
Minnie Mae went to school in Amory. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was an active woman who loved to shop. Despite some obstacles in her life, she was an independent woman who was able to work and support herself and live on her own for many years. Minnie was passionate about Ole Miss Football and what Ole Miss stood for as far as high standards in education. Minnie loved to watch TV, especially older western movies, Hallmark Channel, and Soap Operas. When it came to entertainers, Elvis Presley always was number one with her. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Minnie is survived by her nephews, Danny Russell, Aberdeen; Jimbo (Kathy) Adams, Becker; David O’Conner, Amory; Brett Adams, Amory; Burt, Robert Jr., Carl and Sam Adams, all of Oxford; niece, Patricia Adams, TN; great nieces & nephews, Nathan Russell; Taylor and Jeremy Adams; Jason and Jake O’Conner; and Lexi Miller; special friends, Patricia Tidwell and the staff at River Place Nursing Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ernestine Russell; brothers, Robert and James “Tiger” Adams.
Services for Minnie Mae will be at 1:00 PM, December 29, 2016, at E.E.Pickle Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pall Bearers will be Joe Reden, Andrew Perry, Ken Chism, and Jimbo Adams.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, December 28 at the funeral home.
