Mike McDonald

Mike McDonald, a devoted father, brother, and cherished boyfriend, passed away at his residence on March 13, 2025. Born on February 5, 1959, in Sheffield, Alabama, Mike was a man who dedicated his life to the well-being of others and was known for his generous nature.

Mike's career as an HVAC Technician at Air-Tech in Tupelo showcased not only his technical skills but also his commitment to providing comfort and reliability to those around him.

A proud Alabama fan, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, grilling, and listening to the music of Hank Williams Jr., which resonated deeply with his persona as a lover of good times and great company. His ability to balance work and leisure while nurturing his passions was a testament to his vibrant spirit.

Mike was more than an excellent provider; he was a dedicated father to his children, Kerri Zuelich, Tasha McDonald, Sandy McAfee, and Ronald White. He took pride in raising his family, which remains his proudest accomplishment. He is also remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Sheridan, Chasity, Kilee, Knox, and Gabby, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ella and Magnolia.

Survived by his beloved siblings, Connie Tank (James), Anthony McDonald (Tracy), Joey McDonald, and Johnny McDonald (Dorothy), Mike shared a strong bond with his brothers, Anthony and Joey, who were also his closest friends. He is also mourned by Kathy McDonald, a beloved girlfriend of over 20 years, and a host of nieces and nephews who were touched by his kindness and protective nature.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Robert McDonald Sr. and Velma Leigh (Fisher) Vaden; his sister, Sharon Barksdale; his brother, Phillip McDonald; and his stepfather, Hubert Vaden.

Mike McDonald will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering dedication to his family, and the warmth he brought to all who knew him. His legacy of love and commitment will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.
