Amory- Micheal Lane Steinke, 25, died Saturday, August 17, 2013. Born November 9, 1987 in Amory, he was the son of Kenneth Lane and Mary Jo Hall Steinke.
Mikey grew up in Amory and attended Hatley School. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, was a previous member of Wildwood Chapel Baptist Church, and co-owned Steinke Construction and Steinke Lawn and Handy Man Service with his father. Having a heart of gold and generosity, he would help anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, riding 4 wheelers, hanging out with his family and friends, especially his nieces, Trinity, Dakota, and Harley, and was an avid MSU fan. Mikey will be remembered for his goodness and his contagious smile.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Jo Steinke, Amory; sisters, Memy Steinke, Amory and Maranda Steinke, Amory; grandparents, Eudell and James Hall, Amory and Shirley Steinke, Amory; nieces, Dakota and Harley Basham, Trinity Steinke; aunts and uncles, Marilyn Poirier, Linda and Brenda Steinke, Shirley Jean Price, Bobby Richey (Kay), Charles Steinke (Jamie), Jessica Sloan (Donnie); great aunts and uncles, Gene Hill (Ann), Reba Colburn, Linda Howard (Jr.), Howard Hall (Betty Ann), Cleve Hall (Dorothy), James Seymore (Brenda), Charles Seymore, Alan Adams (Lola), and Jimmy Hurley (Linda) and a host of cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ervin Steinke; great grandparents, Alice Hall, Bertha Hill and Edna Seymore.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Johnson and Bro. Chuck Moffett. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Richey, Brandon Steinke, James Gray, Andy “Turtle”Prestridge, Gabe Young, and Jon McCullar. Jeremy Bray will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
