Caledonia - Michael Wayne Wright, 59, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at his residence in Caledonia. Born on April 13, 1952, in Columbus, MS, he was the son of the late Alfred Dearwood and Otera Logan Wright.
Michael was a high school graduate. He was blessed with the ability to do anything with his hands, and he worked as a journeyman carpenter before retiring. Having a huge heart and a great sense of humor, Michael loved God, his family including his dogs, and especially his grandson. His love for life was contagious and he always had a positive impact on others’ lives. An avid sportsman, Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and enjoyed watching his favorite TV programs.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judy Elizabeth Bennett Wright, Caledonia; daughters, Carrie Elizabeth Wright, Caledonia and Andrea Dawn Wright Guyton and son-in-law, Dewey “Bean” Guyton, Amory; sisters, Charlene Wright King Slocum (Bob) and Betsy Wright Morway (Pat), Columbus, GA; brothers, Alfred Wright, Jr., (Carol), Macon and Richard Wright (Margie), Lakeland, FL; grandson, Channing William-Wayne Guyton, Amory; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, David Quick, Sr., Warren Barry, and Brian Allbritton.
Michael was a great husband, father and pawpaw. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
