Born on October 16, 1958, in Amory, he was a son of Ann Hollis Nash Fowlkes and the late E. J. Nash.Michael was an honors graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1976, and a graduate of IJC with a degree in Tool and Die. He married Marsha Williams on August 31, 1980. Retiring after 32 years of service with True Temper Sports, he was a machinist. Growing up in Hatley Missionary Baptist Church, Michael was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church where he had taught RA’s. His family, especially his children and grandchildren, were important to him. Michael enjoyed antique cars, going to car shows, metal detecting, collecting coins, watching NASCAR and cheering for Dale Earnhardt, Sr.; and listening to Elvis and The Gaithers. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and riding dirt bikes.He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marsha W. Nash, Hatley; mother, Ann Fowlkes, Hatley; daughter, Amber Englund (Steven), Long Beach; son, John Nash, Amory; beloved grandsons, Addison and Milo Englund, Long Beach; and brother, Keith Nash, Amory.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawton and Martha Coster Nash and D. D. and Annie Pennington Hollis.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, January 3 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt and Bro. Ben Lovelace officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Englund, Dewayne Laney, Wayne Robuck, Dan Nash, Ricky Williams, David Williams, Billy Dykes, and Mike Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tenn-Tom Cruisers Car Club. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are given to Meadowood Baptist Church, 1510 Hatley Rd., Amory, MS 38821; St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Beth May, PO Box 269, Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
