Born on April 27, 1924, in Branch, MS, he was a son of the late Robert Dillard and Lena Cox Renfroe.Mr. Renfroe was a graduate of Canton High School and a Business College in Nashville. He honorably served in the US Army Air Corps as a Corporal during World War II. On June 12, 1949, he married Helen Miller.Mr. Renfroe worked at various jobs throughout his career; he owned his own business for many years, was a car salesman, a parts store manager, and a motorcycle salesman. After retirement, he worked part-time at Amory Garment in Amory for 18 years.Mr. Renfroe was a member of First Baptist Church of Amory. Throughout his life, he served as a Sunday School teacher, a Discipleship Training Director and a deacon. Mr. Renfroe was a Mason and a past member of the Civitan Club. His passion was gardening and he loved to give away his produce and make jellies for gifts. Mr. Renfroe loved to fish, listen to bluegrass and gospel music, and loved animals especially dogs, cats, and birds.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, January 29 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Simpson and Bro. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Music will be provided by Matt Chisholm and Robert Frederick. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Raper, Tommy Love, Bobby Joe Stephens, Lawrence Stevens, Frank Finney, and Howard Boozer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School class.Visitation will be from 1:45 – 2:45 PM, Sunday prior to service hour.He is survived by his daughters, Becky Burke, Amory, and Jan Raper, Huntsville, AL; sons-in-law, Ray Burke and Joe Raper; grandchildren, Michael Raper and Julie Brewer (Tim), Huntsville, AL; great-grandchild, Aaron Brewer, Huntsville, AL.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; a sister; and four brothers.Memorials may be given to a First Baptist Church Comfort Fund, PO Box 540, Amory, MS 38821 or to Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
