Smithville--Melissa Ann “Mo” Blaylock, 42, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. Born in Aberdeen, MS, on June 7, 1975, she was a daughter of Linda Hall Howard and the late Kenneth Hill.
Melissa loved her family and friends and loved to take care of her family. She never left the side of a sick person whether that person is a member of her family or any of her friends. Her kids and grandkids were her life.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant. When not working, she enjoyed listen to George Jones and Tim Aaron. She loved to cook any type of cake or pie. She also enjoyed watching car races. One of her greatest pleasures was to be around her animals and flowers.
Melissa had a strong faith and she never feared death. Her family and friends will always remember her for her love for them.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Blaylock; daughters, Sommer Blaylock, Smithville, Kayla Blaylock, Sulligent; sons, Anthony Blalock, Sulligent, Jere Clemens, Memphis, TN; her mother, Linda Howard (Palmer), Smithville; sisters, Amy Adams, Ellie Blaylock, Debra Doughty; grandchildren, Houston Smith and Je “Michael” Blaylock; a host of nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Reba Colburn and mother-n-law, Linda Blaylock.
There will be a memorial service for Mrs. Blaylock on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Apostolic Church, Amory, MS with Bro Stanley Blaylock officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church.
