E. E. Pickle FH, AmoryAmory, MSAmory – Mattie Laura Marshall, 82, died at River Place Nursing Home on Friday, August 13, 2010. Born on March 30, 1928, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Richard N. and Annie B. Ford Condrey.A very loving mother, Mrs. Marshall was a retired seamstress, having worked at Wilson Manufacturing, Pullman Couch, Action, and Peoploungers. She was an active member of Trace Road Baptist Church and would watch the service on television when she wasn’t able to attend. Mrs. Marshall enjoyed being outdoors, vegetable gardening and sewing. Wheel of Fortune was her favorite television show. She was a caregiver and a hard worker who always wanted the best for her family.She is survived by a daughter, Laura Marshall (Bill) Fisher, Amory; son, Charles (Karen) Marshall, Smithville; grandchildren, Chris (Melinda) Christian, Matthew Christian, Tyler Christian, Kerri (Larry) Spann, Kayla (Ashley) Eaton and Chas Marshall; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Katie, Ryan and Dylan Christian, Zoie Christian, and Riley and Clay Eaton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Hurshel Marshall, whom she married on July 7, 1944, and brothers, Robert and James Condrey.A funeral service for Mattie L. Marshall will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home in Amory with Bro. Jamie Stark and Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris, Matthew and Tyler Christian, Chas Marshall, Larry Spann and Ashley Eaton. Honorary pallbearers will be the Happy Hearts Sunday school class.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to Trace Road Baptist Church, 1201 Trace Church Rd., Amory 38821 and the American Cancer Society, % Beth May, Amory 38821-0269.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at picklefh@att.net .
