Born on July 15, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Gabe B. and Sarah Brown Silas.Mrs. Hathcock attended Bethlehem schools. A woman of faith, she was the oldest member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. A homemaker and a wonderful lady, Mrs. Hathcock enjoyed being a housewife, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter, Iva Nell West, Greenwood Springs; sons, Clinton Hathcock, Greenwood Springs, Rabon Hathcock, Detroit, AL, and Hilbert and Wilburn Hathcock, Greenwood Springs; sister, Ali May Williams Williams, Sulligent; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton G. Hathcock; sisters, Claudie Jones, Velcie Cavender and Emma Jean Simmons; and G. C. Silas.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville with Bro. Mike Tucker and Bro. Bobby Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Baptist Church.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
