Wren - Mary Fletcher "Fletch" Poss Williams, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Oak Tree Plantation, Amory. Born May 10, 1925, in Chickasaw County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Augustus and Bobbie Lee Townsend Poss.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Wren School, 1943. She married James C. Williams who preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Williams worked in the garment industry at Red Kap Industries and Blue Bell Industries, retiring after many years of hard work. She enjoyed gospel music, gardening, working outside, and she most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Wren Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Bro. Bobby Joe Poss (Carol) of Phil Campbell, AL; grandchildren, Elisabeth Williams Oliver and Daniel Williams (Kelly); 5 great-grandchildren, Skyler and Cade Oliver, Owen Braden, and Colton Williams; niece, Jennifer P. Duncan (Chris); nephew, Tony Poss; great-nieces and great-nephews, Isaac, Jacob, Gracie, Josiah Duncan; special friend, Josephine Tillman.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Larry Williams; daughter-in-law, Janice P. Williams; brother, Oscar T. Poss.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Bobby Joe Poss officiating. Burial will follow in Wren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Milstead, Ray Gallop, Tony Poss, Charles ‘Tinker’ Pate, Chris Duncan, Jason Hood.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday, March 13, 2015, at the funeral home and will continue until the service hour on Saturday.
