Mary Alice Wilbanks
Mobile, AL – Mary Alice Wilbanks, 98, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at her residence. Born on July 29, 1914, in Madison, TN, she was a daughter of the late Jones Ridley and Blanche Hubbard Gooch.
Mrs. Wilbanks grew up in Jackson, MS. She married James “Jimmy” Wilbanks in 1936. In 1941, they moved to Amory and lived here more than 50 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Amory.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Olensky (Fabian), Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Jay Olensky (Faye), Mobile, AL, and Jamie McGarry (Thomas), Little Rock, AR; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Courtney Olensky and Natalie and Hallie McGarry.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 30 in Masonic Historical Society Cemetery with Dr. Tom Cheatham officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, 209 4th St S, Amory, MS 38821 or Amory Public Library, 401 2nd N, Amory, MS 38821.
