– Mary Lou White, 72, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on November 15, 1938, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late R. D. and Elner Stanford Palmer.Mary Lou attended Carolina and Fulton schools. A wonderful lady, she had worked as a seamstress with Amory Garment before becoming a homemaker. For the last ten years, she and her husband operated Amory Produce Market. Dedicated to her faith, Mary Lou was a member of Amory Primitive Baptist Church. A good wife, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary Lou enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, cooking for her family, quilting, collecting antiques, and listening to Country and Gospel music.She is survived by her husband, Norman “Buddy” White, Aberdeen; sons, Gregory Oliver (Brandy), Aberdeen, Keith Richard Oliver, Pontotoc, and Andy White, Amory; sisters, Grace Raymond, Amory, and Lois Holley and Joyce Walden, Nettleton; brothers, James Palmer, Pecola, AR, and Larry Palmer, Nettleton; grandchildren, Courtney, Brianna, and Billy Landon Oliver; Drew White, and Crystal Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Oliver; husband, Billy Oliver; sisters, Lena Barnett, Gladys Blake, and Jessie Mae Newton; and brothers, Blanchard, Odell, Robert, and Buddy Palmer.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Elder Bobby Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
