Greenwood Springs – Margie West, 75, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at her residence. Born on October 21, 1936, in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stapleton.
Mrs. West attended Wrightsville, GA, schools. Always caring for her family, she was a homemaker and a constant and faithful wife and mother. Mrs. West was Methodist. She enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, fishing, working word puzzles and jig saw puzzles, singing, and Old Country music.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, February 28 at New Hope Cemetery with Mr. David Highland, minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be George Clements, James “Jimmy” Chavis, Dallas Clements, Ellis R. Clements, Jo Jo Chavis, Brent Tubbs, Alex Gaulin, and Robert Duncan.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Grady Clayton “Bud” West and sons, James and Winfred Earl West of Greenwood Springs; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Harris (Ellis Ray), Greenwood Springs and Kate Theron Poole, Smithville; brothers-in-law, Ray West (Charlotte) and Harvey Lee West of Glenwood, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
