Mary L Watson

Mary Lucille “Lucy” Hodges Watson, 89, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born July 3, 1922 in Webster County, Mississippi, she was a daughter of Jim Ed and Mattie Roberson Hodges.

A homemaker, she married Rupert Watson, Jr. in 1942. She was a member of the Meadowood Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking, flower gardening, and collecting international memorabilia from her travels.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. James Rutledge officiating. A committal service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Eupora City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 69 ½ years, Rupert Watson, Jr. of Amory; one son, Tom Watson (Sharon) of Knoxville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Kelly, Joseph Watson, Deanna Sides, and Sam Watson; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James C. “Jim” Watson; one sister, Mattie White; and one brother, James Robert Hodges.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday evening and will continue until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
