Mary Jo Cunningham Swan, 86, died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her home. Born October 22, 1926 in Manchester, TN she was a daughter of the late George and Alice Simmons Cunningham. A homemaker, she married Richard Lee Swan in 1946. A woman of faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory and she enjoyed homemaking, collecting antiques, painting, gardening, and spending time with her family and her Sunday school class.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home chapel in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Parker (Terry) of Amory; son-in-law, Garfield Gosa of Hiram, GA; one brother, Bob Cunningham of Manchester, TN; three grandchildren, Kristy Prescott, Tyler Parker, and Trey Parker; and two great grandchildren, Karmen Dallas and Delta Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years; sister, Georginia Cunningham Bryan; and daughter, Judy Swan Gosa.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Parker, Gary Swan, Grady Swan, Ken Swan, Garfield Gosa, Jr., and Terry Parker.
Visitation will be 12 until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
