Amory – Mary Kathryn Myatt, 94, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center, Amory. Born on April 28, 1920, in her home in Becker, she was a daughter of the late Benton Greenwood and Virgie Millilee Walden Myatt.
She graduated from Becker School in 1938. Miss Myatt worked as an Inspector in the garment industry for Glenn Manufacturing. A sweet and loving Christian woman, she was member of First Baptist Church, Amory. Very talented, she enjoyed crocheting items for family, tatting, sewing, and writing poems. During Christmas, she loved to decorate and spoil her family members. Sharing her musical gift with many, she played the piano up until this Fall. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Her favorite music was Old Gospel and hymns.
Survivors include her nephews; James Benton Howell (Sandra) and David Greely Howell (Debbie) of Birmingham; Greely Lee Myatt, Memphis; sister-in-law, Louie Roberts Myatt, Amory; nieces, Virginia Myatt Sparks (Dan), Richland, WA, and Gloria Myatt Coker (Rex), Amory; special cousin, Hob Bryan, Amory; and a host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellie Ocallo Myatt, Vera Sallie Myatt, and Virginia Cyrene Myatt; and brother, Benton Greely Myatt.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 20 in Masonic Cemetery with Dr. Allen Simpson and Bro. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Pallbearers will be Rex Coker, Hob Bryan, Naum Myatt, and Donnie Myatt.
Visitation will be from 1:30 – 2:30 PM, Saturday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Everyone is asked to meet at 2:30 PM at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
