Amory – Mary Joyce Miller Langford, 68, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at her residence in Amory. Born on October 29, 1949, In Amory, she was a daughter of Mary Lois Northington Miller and the late Ben William Miller.

Joyce attended school in Becker and Amory, graduating with the 1967 Class of Amory High School. Growing up she learned the value of determination and hard work. Joyce was the youngest person to ever graduate from Vaughn Beauty School. She continued to broaden her many fields of expertise as she began to work in Accounting and Payroll positions. She co-oped at Abney Accounting, went to work at Freds and later at Vista-Conoco in the Lab and in the Accounting Dept. She eventually became a payroll/accounting clerk at Fabri-Valve and finished her careers working with Dr. Stockton and eventually at P & S Clinic.

A wonderful, loving and caring woman, Joyce went on a date with her former classmate, Rodney Langford. Married on July 29, 1975, they were blessed by God with over 42 wonderful years together. Joyce loved the Lord and her faith was evident through her deeds. She was a faithful member of Meadowood Baptist Church and loved helping with the Wednesday Night Suppers. Her Sunday school class meant a lot to her and she loved helping Rita Sweatt with her ministry work. A true servant who put others before her, Joyce was always helping others. Having a big heart, Joyce loved being with her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

A great cook, she enjoyed watching the Food Network and Hallmark channels. Joyce enjoyed Gospel music and Hymns. She liked to travel, especially taking trips with Rodney on their motorcycle. One of her favorite places to visit was Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, where she loved to camp and enjoyed being outdoors. A people person, Joyce enjoyed selling Rose Marie Cosmetics, Premier Jewelry, Limu products. Joyce will be dearly missed by her family and friends, yet they take comfort knowing she is with God. They are grateful for the years of love and wonderful memories Joyce gave them to cherish forever.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney; sons, Eric Langford (Brenda), Greenwood Springs, and Alan Langford, Caledonia; mother, Lois Miller, Amory; grandchildren, Ethan Langford, Shelby Creekmore (Jonathan), and Blake Langford; sister, Pat Ashley (Jimmy), their children, Scott (Deanna), Jason (Laura) and Mark (Paige) Ashley; mother-in-law, Imogene Nabors Langford; brothers-in-law, Gerald Langford (Janice), Herbert Langford (Sue); Richard Langford (Marsha); Michael Langford (Susan); sister-in-law, Sharon Bond (Tim); nieces and nephews, Samantha, Taylor, Miller, Huff, Sawyer and Sydney Ashley; numerous special friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gordon Langford.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, October 12 at Meadowood Baptist Church, Amory, with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott, Jason and Mark Ashley; Kevin and Mike Langford; Charles Marshall; and Don Cliburn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Devan George, Gerald Langford, and Charles Langley.

Visitation will will be from Noon - 2:50 PM, Friday at the church.
