Hatley- Mary Ann Chism, 48, died Thursday, January 23, 2013 at NMMC. She was born July 27, 1964 in Amory, to Louise Phillips Cox and the late Joe Cox, Jr. She married Tim Chism in 2011.
Mrs. Chism attended Amory Schools and was a manager at the Best Western Hotel in Aberdeen for several years. She was of the Baptist faith. A very devoted woman to her family, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and shopping with her 2 daughters. Having a great personality, Mary Ann worked at Pickles Handi- Mart in Hatley, where she made many treasured friends. She enjoyed crafting, decorating, taking pictures and shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Chism of Hatley; mother, Louise Phillips Cox of Hatley; daughters, Courtney and Bri Oliver, both of Hatley; son, Chandler Chism of Hatley; brothers, Wayne Cox (Sharon) of Jackson, David Cox of Tupelo, Mike Cox of Smithville, Ricky Cox of Florida, and Donald Cox of Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Molly and Chester Cox, Ed and Mary Mathis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 AM at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church on Smithville Rd., with Bro. Chip Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Phillips, Tony Phillips, Sam Jones, Andy Terri, Jeremy Dillman, and Gray Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Raymond, Devan Hurley, Ricky Willhite, and Michael Cox.
Visitation will be on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5PM-8PM. Mrs. Chism will lie in state at the church on Saturday, from 10 AM until the service hour.
