Mary Ausborn

Amory – Mary Myrtle Hudson Ausbon, 102, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at her residence. Born on August 11, 1909, in Hatley, she was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Della Jane Farris Hudson.
Mrs. Ausbon attended school in Winfield and Hatley. Graduating in the Class of 1929 from Hatley, she was a member of the first Girl’s basketball team, 1928-1929. Mrs. Ausbon worked on the farm and was a seamstress. Guided by her faith, she was a member of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her family, quilting, flower gardening, sewing, gardening, reading books, watching Dennis Rodman play basketball, and Gospel and Country music. Mrs. Ausbon was passionate about supporting the Paralyzed Vets Association.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Cook and Bro. Charles Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Morgan, Lee Morgan, Robbie Ausbon, Todd Justice, Andre Ausbon, and Jason Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Ausbon.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Fines, Amory and Francis MaDonna Cole (Kerry), Ashville, AL; grandchildren, Pam Adams, Huntsville, AL, Terry Ausbon, Soddy Daisy, TN, Andre Ausbon (Annette), Huntsville, AL, Randy Morgan, Fulton, Lee Morgan (Jamie), Amory, Tracy Bean (Ed), Shannon, Robbie Ausbon, Amory, Amber McBunch (Joseph), Amory, Della Stocks (Jeff), Asheville, NC, Todd Justice (Tracey), Columbiana, AL, Brandi Lidikey (Jeff), Hoover, AL, and Kim Hayes (Harry), Warrior, AL; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great- great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; and special friend, Elizabeth Swan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Ausbon; sons, Bobby and Landon Ausbon; sisters, Inez Dilworth, Lena Wright, Jimmie Lee Wright, and Jean Wilson; brothers, Brack and Buddy Hudson; and two grandchildren
