Smithville -Mary A. Nabors Carlisle “MAC”, age 70, died on September 21, 2022 at the North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory, Mississippi.
MAC was born February 5, 1952, in Amory to John Russell Nabors and Manie Laura Clark Nabors. A 1970 graduate of Smithville High School, she continued her education at Bauder College, Atlanta, Georgia, in Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design.
MAC had an exceptional talent for decorating, flower arranging, and arranging furniture to make a home unique. Her favorite hobbies were reading her Bible, attending church, playing with her cats, growing plants, decorating, and shopping. Most important to her were family, friends, church family, her cats, and her Friends of God (FOG) Recovery girls.
MAC was a faithful member of Cross Bound Church. A loving, caring, sharing individual, she always put others before herself. Living her faith out daily, she led the Prayer Team at her church for seven years.
Survivors include a son, John Keeton and his wife Anne Crockford Keeton of Becker, and a son by heart, Herb Springer, his wife Miranda, and their daughters, Gracie and Emily of Birmingham. MAC is also survived by a multitude of friends and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Cross Bound Church, Smithville, on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM with Bro. Brandon Harris and Bro. Kevin Crook officiating. Pallbearers will be Patrick Powell, Rusty Williams, Brian Duffy, Chris Edwards, Brad Morgan and Mike Collums. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Friend of God “FOG” Recovery Girls.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday at the church.
Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 26, 2022 at Young Memorial Garden in Smithville.
