Aberdeen – Martha Mae Cowley, 70, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Pioneer Hospital. Born on December 24, 1943, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Willie Allen McCullar.
Martha attended Pine Grove and Nettleton Schools. She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ. With life centered on her faith, family and friends, Martha enjoyed playing with her children, family gatherings during the holidays, flower gardening, reading her Bible, Gospel music, and collecting Angels and dolls.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Ann Cowley, Aberdeen; son, Larry Wayne Cowley, Jackson; sister, Carolyn Hall (Larry), Nettleton; brother, Delbert McCullar (Tollie), Nettleton; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kenneth Reich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Cowley; sisters, Virginia Sickler, Nancy Johnson, and Elizabeth Gilmore; and brothers, Troy Ray Allen and Marlin McCullar.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 30 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Mr. David Highland officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven and Jeff Basham; Darrell Barnes; Michael Abbott; Jordan Smith; and Andrew Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Duncan, Jacky Richardson, and Larry Hall.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8PM, Thursday, May 29 at the funeral home.
