Mark S. Williams

Smithville – After a long extended illness, Mark Simmons Williams, 59, passed away and became totally healed on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was born on September 15, 1963 to the late Arvis Williams and Sylvia Simmons Russel.

Mark was a graduate of Smithville High School, furthered his education at ICC and he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance at Mississippi State University. He was an Avid MSU fan and loved his bulldogs. He loved the Lord and he was member of Smithville Baptist Church. The most important thing to Mark in his life was God, his family, friends and his best friend, Tony Parish.

He worked as a Customer Service Representative at ITT in Amory for 30 years and 3 days. Over the years, the people he worked with and for became his second family and they shared his joys and struggles in life. He was so grateful for all the friendships made throughout his career.

Mark loved music, especially listening to Molly Hatchett. In his down time, he liked to be outside, fishing, waiting for the big catch. Through and through, Mark would always shoot it to you straight, and if he needed to shine light on any controversial situation, he would simply say “You can’t fix stupid”. His greatest accomplishment in life was raising his three children and spending precious time with his grandbabies.

He fought a hard fight with is illness and ultimately he has won, as he is with his Lord and Savior, completely healed. Mark you will be missed dearly and we look forward to the day we meet again.

He is survived by his three his children, Payton Edwards (Keith), Smithville, Jordan Williams, Pratts, and Cody Williams (Alisha), Guntown; grandchildren, Wyatt, Stetson, and Delta; sister, Candace Taylor (Anthony), Smithville; his step-father, Bobby Russell, Smithville; two nieces; a special friend and caregiver, Tony Parish.
