Smithville – Marilyn Hathcock, 59, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC, Amory. Born on July 28, 1954, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Mary Green Frederick Hathcock.
Marilyn was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1973, and MUW. She had worked for Arvin’s, Tupelo, and Gilmore Memorial RMC, Amory. Marilyn was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed eating out with family and friends, reading, making jewelry, traveling, and Gospel and Oldies music.
Survivors include her sister, Melissa Hathcock Miller (Bronson), Amory; brother, Dwight Hathcock (Sible), Smithville; a host of cousins; and special friends, Aunt Lynda Horn, Aunt Doris Irvin, Aunt Florence Knight, Uncle Gary Frederick, Uncle John Hathcock, JoAnn West, Deb Carter, Mike Wells, and Lil Bit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Hathcock.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, July 25 at Grace Fellowship Church, Hatley with Bro. Danny Burk and Bro. Rob Sargent officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Hathcock, Dennis Jackson, Danny Hathcock, Charles Watson, Keith Hathcock, Peyton Horn, and Mike Wells.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at Grace Fellowship Church.
