Amory – Marian E. Edgil, 83, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, at River Place Nursing Center. Born on April 2, 1931, in Davenport, IA, she was a daughter of the late Anton Martin and Lola Beckwith Harms.
Mrs. Edgil was a graduate of Davenport High School, Class of 1949. On February 15, 1950, she married Dr. Melvin R. Edgil. Moving to Amory in 1951, she worked with her husband as the office manager at Edgil Chiropractic. A Christian lady who loved the Lord, Mrs. Edgil attended Meadowood Baptist Church. A loving lady who always had fun, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, and music by Elvis, Conway Twitty, the 1950’s, Big Band, and Swing.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. Richard Edgil (Tanya), Amory, Martin Edgil (Dafney), Guam, and Matthew Edgil (Stacye), Mobile, AL; brothers, Charlie Harms, Davenport, IA, and Freddie Harms (Mardell), Arizona; grandchildren, Trey, Adalae, Matt, Morgan, Maisie, Micky, Nathan, Allena, Ashley, Cathy, Timothy, Sugar, Nicknook, Brian, and Joanna; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Callie Grace, Rylan, Phiven, and Drex; several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Melvin R. Edgil; daughters, Mary and Barbree Edgil; sister-in-law, Melba Nerren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 31 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Dudley Nash officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trey and Matt Edgil, John Turner, Tony Head, Timothy Chaney, Kevin Dykes, Mickey Edgil, and Nathan Terry.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
