Amory — Margaret Faye Dean Underwood, 74, died on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born August 27, 1939 in the Bigbee Community of Monroe County she was a daughter of Reldon and Ozelle Jones Dean.

She attended Amory High School and she married Danny Underwood. She enjoyed collecting frogs and cookbooks and working with flowers. Before her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for Coy Glenn Industries and worked for the Dollar General Corporation for 25 years having spent the last 8 years in management. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Amory and she loved her dog, Tanner. One of her greatest accomplishments was overcoming polio at age 4.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Glen Hughes officiating. Committal services will follow at 1 p.m. at the Rutledge Salem Cemetery in Tishomingo County.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Underwood of Amory; 3 daughters, Sherry Walker of Amory, Tina Moore of Tupelo, and Kim Thompson (Gary) of Amory; one sister, Nita Dean Huntley of Amory; one brother, Junior Dean of Cason; 4 grandchildren, Chris Walker (Jenna), Mandy Walker, Jake Moore (Malorie), and Ryan Moore; one great grandchild, Brewer Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Alice Jones; and nephew, Larry Bennett.

Pallbearers will be Chris Walker, Jake Moore, Ryan Moore, Tommy Walden, Don Moore, and Ricky Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Lewis, Walter Myatt, James Seymore and Terry Hall.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday evening and will continue until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Diabetes Association.
